I have been following a specific Great Horned Owl family in Port Charlotte, FL for approximately three years. In the spring of 2021 & 2022, the pair had unsuccessful nesting seasons. In 2023, I relocated the owl family, that had chosen a different tree to nest in. After a few months, a baby Great Horned Owl emerged from the nest. I named him “Hoodini”. This is a photo of the mother, Charlotte teaching Hoodini how to preen and remove feathers.
